When I was growing up we had a playground ride called the Merry-Go-Round.  You would stand on the metal disk and hold on to the rails for dear life.  Friends would push the disk causing it to spin until you were going so fast you thought you were either going to throw up or die. Then it would happen, you let go of the rail, your body does a matrix move…. you wake up to dirt in your face and your breath has been knocked out.  Thank God, this dangerous ride has been outlawed from most playgrounds around America.

Life is just like that Merry-Go-Round, you get on and your world begins to turn.  Sometimes it feels as though life is moving faster than you can comprehend. So fast, you struggle to get your balance. Life’s circumstances can cause you to feel as though life is out of control.  You can’t stop it. You can’t slow it down.   Have you ever felt this way? Virtual Vertigo is what I like to call it.  The good news is you can put the brakes on life.  You can experience peace in a world of unrest.  The  bible says in Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Psalm 91:1 Who ever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. God promises in His word to rescue you from hazards and keep you safe from the hidden traps of life.  Pray to him and yes sometimes you have to yell out His name.  The name of Jesus becomes the brakes we apply to our swirling issues of life.  He will give you peace and carry you to safety.  Allow God to fight your battles don’t be tempted to get overwhelmed with lifes pressures  but dwell in the shelter of God.  Join me for prayer: Dear Lord, today I won’t allow life’s circumstances to get me out of control.  I refuse to let my challenges send me into a spin.  Jesus I need you to bring everything into focus.  I need your peace, I surrender my life to you Lord.  Thank you for your love and peace in my life.
