Rosalinda Rivera was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She was recently recognized by style magazine as a Top 40 under 40 young leaders making an impacted in the city of Richmond for a better change.
Volunteering is a part of her everyday life, from coaching for the YMCA to founding Sports Challenge an outreach of New Life For Youth. Her heart and her passion is helping people. Sports Challenge host sports camps throughout the city of Richmond in the most devastated communities impacted by crime and drugs. Each child at no cost is given the opportunity to learn about a sport while engaging in prevention and ultimately encouraging them to make right choices.
She has led mission trips around the world bringing aid to literally tens of thousands of children and families in third world countries. During the tragedy of September 11th, she organized fundraising efforts delivering over $10,000 in financial aid to the Red Cross. When Katrina hit the gulf coast, Rosalinda immediately coordinated relief efforts locally. With the help of a local pilot and plane she was privileged to deliver a plane full of diapers, bottles, and blankets as well as financial aid to desperate families.
Today she serves as Executive Director of New Life For Youth. She continues the vision of her parents, Victor and Carmen Torres which began over 47 years ago.
Through her efforts New Life For Youth has grown into one of Virginia’s strongest charitable organizations. New Life For Youth currently has 135 beds dedicated to people who struggle with alcohol and drug addiction. Rosalinda speaks to groups on prevention and shares the vision of New Life For Youth with groups such as Rotary, Chambers, Kiwanis and public schools.
She has been recognized by the Richmond Police Department for her impact on the city as well as her volunteering efforts for the last four years with Sergeant Santa distributing over 15,000 toys to children in our city. Rosalinda and Carlos Rivera celebrate 20 loving years of marriage. They enjoy traveling, reading, drinking coffee, eating Mexican food, making each other laugh, walking their dog, but most of all they enjoy being parents.
All three of their children serve the community through the various outreach programs of New Life For Youth.

This enables them to become contributing members of their families and communities, bringing the strength of Christ and the message of salvation to the World.
