On the flight home from Fort Lauderdale, the view from my plane window was remarkable. The glorious colors of the sunset blended like an Ombre Spectacular. The view caught my attention just in time to distract me from the responsibilities and financial pressures weighing on my shoulders.

So many hurting and broken people depend on the ministry I run to provide for them a bed and hot meals. It is no small task and I’ll be candid—sometimes the obstacles and obligations feel overwhelming.

Can you relate?

· Decisions to make

· Problems to prevent

· Endless items on your To-Do List

· The challenge of making ends meet

· Juggling the needs and schedules of the family

Do you ever feel as though life’s heavy demands may suck you under?

That is exactly how I felt on that plane ride home. Not to mix my metaphors, but in that moment, at 35,000 feet, I was drowning under a tidal-wave of planning, and organizing.

Before I knew it, a little bit of panic tried to creep in. So, I began to write my solutions to the challenges I was up against.

After typing and deleting one concept after another, growing more frustrated, I stopped my strategizing and began to seek God.

Then He reminded me of something my stress tried to cause me to neglect—

My good plan is no substitute for God’s plan.

I paused from my list-making and just listened. Immediately, the peace and protection in Isaiah 41:10 washed over me:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Are you dealing with challenges that seem to be drowning out your faith? Stop trying to swim above the waters and tune into God’s voice. Open up the Bible and take in God’s Word. Trust Him enough to guide you through your trials.

Give God the opportunity to strengthen, help, and uphold you.

He truly has an answer for everything.
